Lightnings are at the dealerships here for $31.5-32K. There are only like 3 options, so price doesn't vary much. I assume the new Cobra's are going to start around $27K, again I don't believe there are many options to change price that much except the convertible.
*my opinion- until Ford does something impressive w/ the Cobra motor, I would not think of buying a new one. I would grab a GT and put a blower on it, or get The Lightning and have fun running C5's. MM&FF tested a STOCK Lightning: 323HP and 410#'s to the wheels, above Ford conservative rating of 360HP and 440#'s at the crank. With ONLY a Pro M and a Superchip power rocketed to 377HP and 440#'s to the wheels. Thats about 440HP and 540#'s at the crank!!! Imagine a blower pully and an exhaust, I think this is Ford baddest production motor ever, yes, even better then a 427. |
Definitely, the Lightning is a wicked machine. I get the MM&FF, too, and read that article. I can't wait to see what's next. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif
