Sold my 96GT!!! Know where I can get an LS1?

Yep, signed 'er over today. Only had it for 9 months but I didn't want it anymore. Not enough power. Ya know? So, I'm steppin' up...to an LS1!!! Just kidding...never. Actually, I'm flying down to Atlanta, Dallas, and KC, next weekend to look at a few 96-97 Cobra's. YEAH, BABY!!WOOHOO!! I can't wait. Believe me, you will know when I find the one I want. No Cobra's for sale up here in the Northern Plain's.
BTW, if you know where there is a nice one for sale under $17,000, let me know, please, ASAP.

Hey man, congrats! Any who, checked the auto trader? Saw a few Cobra's in there. You could maybe go to www.autotrader.com and look. I saw a 94' Cobra that I was looking at in the auto trader but it was black with tan interior, tan not being my favotire color. Good luck anyhow!

Thanks 98. Yeah, I've been checking autotrader daily and making some calls. Seems like all the good ones are selling before I can get my hands on 'em. ergh

Hey, T-Bone, I am looking for a car and while browsing through my local auto trade I found a sweet '97 cobra that I would be buying if I had the money. i tried to get my brother to buy it, but he is broke too. This car is what wet dreams are made of and I am sure it will eat an LSI for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Here what the ad says, and pic look great:

1997 FORD MUSTANG COBRA, DOHC4.6 vortec/ supercharged, 5spd, Hotchkis performance susp, green w/ tan leather interior, all powers, loaded, showroom condition, 22K miles. $17,500/obo phone # (215)-943-2286

I am out here in Eastern pennsylvania, it may be far from you, but if you are wiiling to fly like you said you are, i would call this guy and check it out.

Hey 91LX2VFAST, that sounds too good to be true. But I will give 'em a call tomorrow. Thanks. Actually I didn't end up going to KC last Saturday, but went to Pennsylvania instead to look at a Cobra vert. I also looked at a couple in Atlanta on Thursday, and in Dallas on Friday.
I already decided on this white beauty in the Atlanta area for $16,900. I will be goin' to pick 'er up on Friday. You can see it at http://web.ndak.net/~topel/Cobra.htm

That is one heck of a nice Cobra and a good price tag. There is no way I would pass it up if I was looking into buying a Cobra. Let us know what she runs!

Thanks crumbie! I got the check from the bank today and I will be flying out at 5am tomorrow.
I should be back Sunday night and will let you all know how my trip was. Damn, I'm excited!

There are a LOT of nice Cobras here in Cali. I would personaly get a 95 bc, theres more performance parts for the 5.0. But I do love those 4 cammers.

Fastang, I was considering going with a 95 at first. For the exact reason that you said, more aftermarket parts that are cheaper. But after finding out that the 94/95 Cobra's only put out 240hp and 285lb-ft compared to the 96-98 Cobra's 305hp and 300lb-ft, I decided modular the the way to go for me.
I just got home from a 1700 mile drive from Atlanta in my new baby. I gotta tell ya, I love this car!

How many miles on that jewel? Let me know how that thing does against the T/As and camaros. BTW I saw a 96 black vert for $18000 where I bought mine, on tuesday. It looked nice but a little abused.

T_Bone 10-16-2000 09:00 AM

rbatson, it has 58K miles after the drive, but it won't accumulate many miles while in my possesion. I know it's kinda high. NADA says acceptable mileage is 52K-55K. Well, it had 56K when I picked it up. But I don't expect to put more than 4000 miles per year on it. I only put 3000 miles on my 96GT in the 10 months that I had it, and that included two trips to Canada. So, the Cobra should be back in the normal range next year, and below normal the following year.
It doesn't show it's mileage in appearance or performance.

Hey T Bone, I didn't get a chance earlier so I just wanted to congratulate you on your new Cobra. It looks like you got a real solid car.
