Getting Preped for Blower and Spring

I know there is a lot of people with blowers and I want to make sure that when I put mine on that I do not put extra strain because I didn't do the right mods before I put it on. On my signature it shows all mods and future mods I was hoping the more experianced stang drivers would be able to help me out with what my next step should be.
Thanks in advance...

I have a 2000 Mustang GT Convertible Silver w/Black Top
The current mods-
3.73 gears, Cold air induction kit,Super Chip, Flowmaster Mufflers, K&N Air Filter, Torq Thrust II Rim's, Bosh platinum +4
I also have a black reflective embossed decal, Mustang GT windshield
decal, Black Tint all around, a neon (blue) under car kit, neon license plates, neon pedals, white out dash kit which is neon blue at night, headlight black out covers, and a Tonneau cover getting preped for Spring.

Well ... the best mod I see is the 3.73s.

I'd tighten up the suspension first.
>Lower control arms and maybe uppers.
>Shocks and Struts
>Springs
Then ... know what S/C you want.
What kind of impact do you want from your S/C?
Just don't do underdrive pullies.
Should have waited on te Superchip. You'll require a re-flash anyway with the S/C.

Subframes are a must w/ you drop-top. If its a 5spd get a shifter. Just make sure your fuel system is set and enjoy the boost. Lastly maybe some gauges to keep track of your boost, air/fuel ratio and what ever else you fell you'll need or just what will look cool.

Smoke,

I had to get the Super Chip because of the new rear. But for the supercharger I wanted to go with a Procharger w/ the intercooler upgrade. I will definetly consider the Lower Control Arms I have seen a lot of people who think that is nec. I will probably end up puting on a X-Pipe or H-Pipe any Suggestions?? I also want to do the 70mm TB.

I went out and checked on the subframe connectors and mine already has them on. They are just bolted (not welded) but that is definetly a good thing (save a little money) And yea definetly when I get that supercharger a Tach is coming too...

Def go with the X pipe.
>70mmTB
I'd have to check with some Procharged guys and see if they recommend the larger TB.

Note:
Be advised though, don't scrimp on the fuel management.
255lph pump
42# inj may be the ticket.

Smoke, why did you say not to do underdrives? Are you referring to using them with a blower ?

You have the little factory ones right? Installing a REAL set of subframes will make a big difference. Not too expensive either. Maybe $100 for a good set.

jereSilver00 01-22-2001 01:55 PM

Yea they are factory small ones... I will probably look into getting them... thanks for advise...

Like I said I like any ideas you guys have... But I was lloking under the hood yesterday... And I saw that I had exhaust manifolds... Not even Stock headers... I don't claim to know much but I know there is a lot of resistance there... If I put on a 70mm TB w/out doing some headers it might actually not do as much good as possible... With the headers it would have less resistance... What do you think??

SMOKE 01-23-2001 06:14 AM

King Snake -Exactly. My advice is ... Don't bother with the pullies if you plan on stepping up to a S/C.
jereSilver00 what you say ... True - Headers. PITA to install and the only real gains wil come from longtubes and measurable ... after you get blown.
Advice ... don't sweat headers unless you plan on going full exhaust, aftermarket heads and intake plus blower.
Otherwise, gains are marginal. That's what I seen.

Guys that spend a lot of time at the track will have headers on their list of mods but for a streeter ... probably a waste of time and effort for 4-8hp.

Your choice. Your car. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif Help??
