I'm also looking for an answer to this problem.
I know for 96-98's Tach output is obtained from PCM (powertrain control module) which is a 104 wire connector, and is located behind the passenger side kick panel. Look for pin number 48, which is usually an orange wire with a white stripe. I dont think this will work for '99 and up cars. What I wouldnt give to have a distibuter and coil on motor. Call or email Autometer and ask them. Surely they could tell you.

Go to paulshp.com They have an adapter you have to buy to put shiftlight on 99 It is the only way I know of to put one on. There is no wire to tap into, at least that is what I was told.

Ah to me its worth the price if I can use a good tach and shift light. Have to spend this income tax return somehow http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

Oh by the way sweet cars there RedLilPony. I do like that '68. I think closest I have come to a rare mustang is a '66 T-5 that my brother bought in Maryland. T-5 was the name used on mustangs sold in Germany.
