I need to get my pinstripping OFF! any ideas
 

I know, it is still on my car, but I want it off! What is the best and most safest way for my paint to get it off?

If it is in pretty good condition (pinstripe) then lift the edge with something like a razor and lightly pull it off.

Not rocket science.

It's easiest if you get a buddy to help you. Get a hairdryer. One of you hold the hairdryer on the pinstripping while the other pulls it off fairly slowly so it doesn't come apart. Don't use a razor. Use your fingernail or something. You don't want to scratch the paint. Pull and heat at the same time. Works great. Use something like paint thinner or alcohol to get off any sticky film that is left behind from the tape. It should come off pretty easily with the hairdryer method. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, and polish&wax it when you are done.

YOu might notice the diffrence in color when you take the pin stripes off. The paint underneath hasnt been exposed to sun light. Might work out and look kinda cool.

Ah I see. But, if the car has had decent care as in wax and all you will probably be alright. Take it off and polish/wax the car real good. If it doesn't turn out you could always put pinstriping on in the previous striping's place to cover it up.

I did EXATLY this. Best thing is when you get it off use bug and tar remover to remove the excess glue and bits of strip...works perfect and doesnt damage paint.
