Throw Out Bearing

I know some of you have replied in my other post (Frustrating Front End Noise) but anyone else have a throw out bearing go bad?

Not sure what the problem is but I have a '99 GT and I've been to the dealership 4 times already for this problem. Tonight I'm dropping it off for the 5th time!

There's a sort of squealing noise when I'm at a stop idling with the clutch in and in gear. The noise gets louder and louder as I sit. If I take it out of gear, the noise stops as soon as I let out the clutch.

I've had this noise occur when I back in the driveway too. Same thing, stops when I let the clutch out.

Of course everytime the car's been at the dealer for this, it supposedly won't make the noise for them.

Any thoughts?

I'm supposed to head down to NC Outer Banks on Friday. I hope I make it!

I thought there was a tsb on throw out bearings for the 99's.

I have a 99 with a much different noise than what you and everyone else describes.
When my foot is off the clutch at idle there is a horrible chatter like noise and disappears when i give it gas.

Been back to the dealer 3 times, they gave me a new clutch, throw out bearing and preasure plate. needless to say it does the same thing.

My advise... go to a different dealer.

later.

Have gone through 3 throwout bearing on my 96 snake.

Am finally going to upgrade to the FMS HD clutch kit, and an after market throwout bearing. Have had it with the Ford POS bearing.

That is what I did the first time my throw out bearing went. Ford of ocala did me right. They had the tranny out to replace the tob then just charged me 40.00 labor to put the king cobra clutch kit in. Hell, they even sent my flywheel out to be resurfaced. They did that under warrenty.
No chirp and nice clutch. Good luck.

Usually a throwout bearing makes the squeaky cricket when the pedal is up, not pressed down.
