buddy of mine just bought a 97 thunderbird with a 4.6 V8, he wants to put a 5spd in but want's to know what electronics to change over and any tips thanks.

Is the mod motor from a Lincoln or a 'stang? I assume the motor is already there and working. The 'stang source would be a direction for conversion parts. The speedo is the major need. If you choose a T56, you will have to figure out a signal for the reverse inhibitor that is not in any Ford.A push button can work well.
