What is the best bang for the buck?
 
I have a 01 GT, and i am just wondering what is the best power additive for the money. I know what i can do but i just cant make up my mind. Dont tell me a supercharger becuase i know, and i dont have that cash right now.

Gears.

A set of 3.73's are 4.10's will give you the best performance for your money.

I would then look at exhaust, and X-pipe would probably give you the next best bang for buck.

After than, not sure, you'll want some good traction so some drag radials might be worth some investment.

I already got flowmasters now. I am thinking about the x-pipe. The gears i am a little scared about consider they will void out my warranty. But what all would the 3.73 do for me. I also want street speed not all track speed.

Gears should not void your warranty...well you may void your warranty on the original gears. Warranty is to cover defects in material and workmanship, if your paint on the hood peels off because the factory screwed up, it has nothing to do with the fact you have different gears in your rear diff.

3.73's will increase your rear wheel torque (not HP). It will also put you in your powerband faster. The 01's have 3.27's I believe, which is a hell of a lot better than the 2.73's in years past. There are several members with 4.10's and I think they like them a lot. The 4.6 like to rev more than the 5.0.

I'm not sure what you mean by "track speed" and "street speed". Are trying to separe top end and speed in the quarter mile?

There is only one kind of speed. If you want all that top end, I guarrantee you that your top end speed will be higher with 3.73's than 3.27's. I've had my car up to around 130 mph, and trust me with 2.73's 5th gear is useless and 4th is working pretty hard to get the car going, your top speed is not going to be determined by your RPM, it will be drag limited well below red line in 5th. Higher gears will allow you to go faster before drag limits your top speed.

The X-pipe is a great idea.
