MAF Meters
I have a '97 GT. Will the the 90 mm MAF from the 2001 Lightning work on my car??? If not what is a good MAF meter to use on 4.6 2V?

I don't think it will work...
A 75mm Bullit from Pro-M is a good meter... ------------------ Adam "Hammer" Packett: Moderator, Gulf War Veteran http://www.mustangworks.com/~hammer/navy.gif GO GET 'EM BOYS! http://www.mustangworks.com/~hammer/f-14i.gif |
It'll work if you have the transfer function burned into a chip. And if you do that and are staying NA, you really only need the 80mm. The 90mm is too big for a NA 2v, the 80mm will help create better air velocity.
I have a 80mm from a Lightning on my 4.6 and it works great. My brother is going w/ a 80mm L-MAF for his 99GT stang also (with proper chip from customchip.com of course. They are the absolute best chip for auto 4.6 stangs.) ------------------ 1997 Thunderbird 4.6L: Dynomax cat-back, MN-12 perf. offroad downtubes and Y-pipe w/ Magnaflow resonator, 80mm MAF with cone filter, B&M trans cooler, Inject-Tech chip, MAC U/D pulleys, KVR front brake upgrade. 15.2 @ 91 before exhaust & pulleys. Not bad for a 3800lb auto 4.6L No Longer own: 91 LX 5.0L 5 spd |
I have the GMS 75 mm unit and so far it's great. I agree a 90 mm unit would be too big.
