99-up pi heads swap

Is it true if you do the heads swap that your oil will leak if so why and how do you fix it and how much would it cost to put a 99-up gt engine in my 96 gt and what about the return less fuel sey up please answer some of my question

no you wont leak oil from a headswap!
a 99 up motor will drop right in, all you have to do is use the ign. system and fuel system from your car. Pretty straight forward. if your car has alot of miles i would get a used low mileage 99+ motor, if you've taken good care of it and don't have too many miles i would do the headswap. jmho. cost around the same. headswap $1300 plus labor, used motor under $2000 plus labor. sometimes you can score used motors real cheap. hope that helps.

thanx for the info how much would it cost for the labor for the heads swap and for the engine swap thanx again
what about the 99-up ecu or would you use your stock ecu

Headswap labor depends on who you talk to and how big their shop is! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

I charge $650 for the headswap. Complete engine swap would run $450.

Porting on the PI heads is $400.

You do not use the '99 & up ECU. You use your stock one. Simply use your existing wiring harness, fuel rails, exhaust, etc, etc. It's simple. One other thing to remember. Swapping the PI heads onto a '96-98 engine will give you 10.3-10.6:1 compression. Adds some power! The '99 & up engines are 9.1:1 compression. The make good power as they are. It all depends on the condition of your existing shortblock and/or the condition of your checkbook.

Let me know if I can help!
