Trouble Starting up

I pulled my stang out of storage last week and had to replace the battery after sitting dormant in my aunts garage all winter. After replacing the battery it started up fine for a few days, now i have to rev the engine just after it starts up or it dies. I am thinking this has to do with the underdrive pullies and the alternator but it ran fine last summer so I am not sure. Thank you for any help, it is greatly appreciated.

If the battery was dead for a long time the computer may have reset. Just drive it around for a while so it can learn the setup again.

If the battery has been used just for starting and the car hasn't been run around to recharge it, that could be the problem right there, especially if you haven't upgraded the alternator or the alternator pulley.

I'm not entirely convinced it's a charging system problem, either. How much gas is in the tank? How long was that gas in there? Did you use gas stabilizer? Try filling it up with fresh gas (don't have to use premium, just regular will do), plus some water remover, and see of that helps. Gas does go bad, hence they sell water remover & stabilizers. Good luck! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
