shocks?
 

I have a 90 mustang gt, and desperately need to replace the rear shocks. I think the rear suspension is completely stock, and with about 100 thousand miles on it, what else should i replace as far as suspension? What kind of shocks should i get. I am going for more street use and comfort than track racing. Thanks!

that kinda depends on what you are willing to spend. You can go with new "take offs" for very little money (around 50 bucks for all 4 shock/struts), and be back to the stock ride, or drop some more money on a set of aftermarket "performance" items, that might give a little better driving experience. The brands are almost endless, from Koni, KYB, HAL, Edelbrock, and more. Other items back there are the quad shocks, probably still good, and springs and arms. It all depends on if you want to spend the cash at once, or replace as you need it.

Since we asre on the topic of shocks, I have a question of my own.
Are the quad shocks really needed? What are they for? (have them on my '88 GT)
When I replaced the shocks/struts on my '82 GT I went with KYB's and they are nice.

The quads are to supress wheel hop due to the soft rubber bushings in the control arms (also the arms themselves flex). If you get aftermarket control arms you can usually take them off and not have any problems. You can fit a wider tire in the back without them in the way.
