TransGo kit in a C4

Guys. Thanks for the help with the noisy lifters on the 289. the noise went away on it's own. We did do the 3 quarts oil and 2 quarts ATF. Just to clean things out..We are going to put in a Trans Go shift kit into the C4 just to help things out. From what we hear it is very straight forward and to follow the directions closely..any other advise would be helpfull...Thanks in advance...Tony and AJ

I had a lot of trouble with my C4 2 years ago. This resulted in many conversations with different people about C4's. The guy that gave me alot of good advice suggested going with a Fairbanks (Stage 2) shift kit for street/strip applications. I don't think you can buy them but your local trans shop can. I didn't install the Fairbanks kit but I have installed a few shift kits. Keep track of the springs and balls and you will be ok.

I'm happy with it but I did many other changes at the same time. Since I don't have power brakes, the higher stall torque converter was the best thing I did. I don't have to use both feet anymore to hold the car back at stop lights.

shift kits are really easy. Very straight forward. All it every really is fallow the directions. The directions are really easy too. can get messy with the transmission fluid though if u don't have a drain plug on the pan watch out. I have gotten a face full of that stuff before. Ur freind will get a good laugh but might piss u off a little bit.
