Newbie Questions

I own a 2001 4.6L 5spd with traction control. My opinion of the trac. control is that it sucks. My question is, does anyone know how I can stop it from coming on automatically?

I also have a couple of Q's for the do-it-yourselfers on the board. How do I make MIL eliminators? Has anyone made a ram-air set-up or have any pics of an aftermarket they will share? Also, I have seen a couple of aftermarket companies with fan switches that kick on sooner, has anyone made one of these yet? I also saw someone talking about the lightning mass-air meter, do you need a custom chip to change to this? Thanks for any help, and I love this board!!

P.S. Sorry about the rambling!!!

Sorry Quik,
I have a 98 (which doesn't come with traction control)

Isn't there a button to turn traction control off?

As far as the MIL eliminators, everyone I know of has purchased them, although I have seen a few posts dealing with doing it yourself....

Wish I could help...

Thank you for your reply Hammer. Yes there is a button to turn the trac.control off. The system runs as a default so that means the trac.control is on as soon as you turn on the car. I would like to find a way so I could turn it on or off like a toggle. This way it would be off when I got in the car.
I too saw the post about the homemade MIL eliminators this is why i asked. Thank you again for your reply, I was beginning to think that noboy cared.

Trac Control

When the light is "on" the T/C is off--kind of confusing...

The service guy for my 02 GT told me to make sure the light is on(traction controll off) except in rain, ice, snow, ect. otherwise it might "kick in" when I don't want it to--and it does--around tight corners at high speed over bumpy surfaces...

The manual says just to keep it on all the time ("Trac Control" light off) because it's automatic (it only comes on when "you need it...)

I can't wait to drive mine thru the NE winter...any one got tips on driving this thing in snow/ice? I havn't driven rear wheel drive in 12 years...
