TFTW heads and push rod lengths?

I just ordered new TFTW heads from Summit. New TF 1.7 roller rockers as well. What I need to know is what length push rods are needed. My 289 block was decked .010". I can get an adjustable push rod to check for exact length and then just order the correct length push rods, but it seems like this should be a known entity, considering how many small block Ford TFTW heads are sold.

I used 6.800" I think. But I have a roller cam. The heads will come with instructions of how long they need to be, or ask the sales rep at summit

I did ask the sales rep at Summit and he had not a clue. I called TrickFlow and they said that I had to go the adjustable push rod route and then order the correct length. This is for a flat tappet cam and I believe the length will be around 7.3", but I'll do the adjustable measurment deal and then know for sure before I order.

the best way to go

Using a flat tappet cam will make the lengths longer. A 5.0 engine usually adds @ 0.50" to pushrod length when using tf heads. Too many unknowns for the tech to be able to tell you what length to go with, the adj pushrod will be the best choice.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, never thought about pushrod lenth, do u think when I went from 289 heads to 302 heads, that I should have changed them??? (by the way I didn't changed the heads, the guy I bught the car from did, to lazy to redue the old ones, just got new 302 heads.)
