Tire Size

Hey all, I really need some new tires - right now I have 225X60 15's on a Weld Draglite -

1. Whats the largest size that I can fit in the rear WITHOUT cutting up the wheelwell...

2. Is 225x60 15 the largest size for the front w/o rubbing on turns?

Thanks in advance!

I want the best fit - fill up the wheel well...

i've got 275/50 15 drag radials on mine, i cut off the quad shock (not sure if 79s have those) and rolled the fender lips and they fit great now, its a good size on a 15" wheel IMO

why do you want larger tires on the front? thats kinda contradicting the "drag" part of the draglites. I'd stay with the 225's on the front if i were you

hope this helps

I just wanted to fill the wheel well - I'm not racing at the track anymore, can't afford it, if something breaks... in college :)

I have 255x45x17 in the front and 275x40x17 in the rear on some cobra r wheels. The fender has been rolled and I had to actually raise the car back up with some cut stock mustang springs in the rear after it had been lowered. The fat tires and large wheels look great! I won first place saturday at a mustang show. They really add alot. But I am not sure they are worth the price of the tires. The front turning radius sucks! It feels like it has been cut in half. Small parking lots are hell especially with that T5 giving me hassle to get in reverse. It drives great on the highway and on not to sharp turns. You get used to driveing with fat tires. Guess that's the price for looks? I think I will be going with 245x45x17 next time around. Hope this gives you an other perspecictive.

If you remove the quads you should be able to fit a 295/50/15 back there without any problems. I did this on my 88 gt.

275/50/15 fits no problem as long as you remove the quad shocks

295?? holy ****!
