Rocket 99GT 12-03-2001 01:33 PM

Amazing! Engine knocking fixed.

All I did was changed the octane from 93 to 94 (I found 94 at a sunoco station).
The first thing I noticed is that the "bucking" was not there anymore (was cause by seting my time adjuster to the maximun which is 14).
The test was this morning, there was ice in the winshield, when I started the beast it kind of knock for few seconds then the noice whent away.
I wish I could find even higer octane but on the other hand I paid 1.57c while regular is 1.34c, oh well if we are driving V8 is because we have the money to pay for the expensive gas.

I can get airplane fuel at the airport here just outside of my town. I'll probably go buy like 5 gallons worth before each time I go to the track...should help my ETs out....

Rocket 99 GT just dial the timing back a few degress and you can run 93 octane fine

6T9 Pony don't run avation fuel. The octane ratings for it and automotive grade gas are different. Plus it is designed to deal with extreme low temps and very high altatudes. You car will run like CRAP with that stuff in you tank. A higher octane fuel won't help you out unless you advance the timing. The higher the octane, the slower it is to burn and the harder it is to light off. To be the fastest you want to run the lowest octane you can without running in detonation.

Blah blah blah....I see your mouth moving, but I don't hear the words....HAHA!! Just joking burner.....

That's really interesting though...that's for the info man...learn something new everyday....Aren't you just the smart guy?:p

Thanx again tireburner.....
