1981 front cap on my car

Ok I maybe a nut for askin this, but will a 1981 Mustang front cap fit on my car. I found a 1981 that I want to use for parts for my V-8 swap and 1981-1982 is my favoriter style front cap. I think it would look pretty cool with the 92 quarter windows and the old style front cap.

maybe I'm just insaine:D

Are you talking about the urethane front nose? If you are i can explain what you need to do...but you may reconsider if that's what you're after.

I was going to put on different fenders, hood, and nose(from a 1981 Mustang). How hard is this. I should fit shouldn't it.

"front cap"? that's the same thing as the front bumper cover (grill), right? If so, that's kinda weird. I usually see people going the opposite direction, putting the newer covers on the front and taking off the older covers. Anyway, that's the one I got on my car, being that it's a '79.

It should bolt right on with little problem, but I assume there is a slightly diff wiring?. It'll take about an hour to change it though. Make sure and try not to strip the screw holes that go into the rubber bumper cover. Some may be old and kinda stubborn.

You'll need the fenders off of the earlier car because your car has "fender extensions" that are fiberglass at the bottom of your fender which if you take off the extensions there will be some big holes exposed.
You'll need the hood because your stock one obviously won't fit as you've noticed.
You'll need to use the front bumper off of the earlier car (which i might add is about 40+ pounds heavier because it's all iron instead of being partially styrofoam impact material like the one on your car, plus the turn signal housings are inside the bumper.
You'll need to rewire the headlights, which shouldn't be that hard and also your turn signal lights because the turn signals are inside the bumper. You may not have to extend the wiring on the running lights.
And of course you'll need the new bumper cover with the headlight retaining assembly attached to it.
it'll probably take you a day or two to do all this depending on how long it takes to line everything up, and adjust the hood latch and stuff like that.
Everything should basically line up and the bolts holes should be the same although i may be mistaken. I say go for it, it'll be unique and i think those years look pretty good as well. Good luck,
