Black Magic and only 225hp??
 

OK, I just got my Black Magic electric fan like 5 minutes ago and tore into the box. After reading everything I looked the box over and it says for up to 265 hp without A/C and 225 hp with A/C. Now we all know we all have more than 225hp. Is this going to affect how well this unit works, or what? I didn't know this before I bought it. Can anybody make me feel a little better about this? I really plan on doing a lot more with this car before too long, and want a good foundation for cooling, and was hoping this was the only fan I would need. Can anybody set me at ease over this?

All I can tell you is I have had the Black Magic fan for several years without any problems with cooling and over 300 HP.

I have run this fan with the factory radiator and water pump and also with an alum radiator and an Edelbrock water pump. With and without A/C...never a problem with cooling, but improved cooling with the alum radiator and Edelbrock pump and A/C delete.

IMHO it is a good mod, cleans up the engine compartment, frees up some HP, and good cooling.

I have the smaller 475 model on my 66 (see sig). I think mine does a little less CFM than the one you got, and mine works fine.
Even with the poor air flow of my "pre-space age" Mustang.

Ok great, thanx guys. I was a little worried there for a minute when I read that on the box. Hopefully I can get that put in this week sometime. I appreciate the replies.

The fan (black magic) cools no better than the stock fan, but it has advantages being electric. If you have any cooling problems after the fan install, i would recommend a high flow 180 thermostat, fluidyne aluminum radiator, and a stewart water pump.
