Radiator Fluid Probs?
My Low Coolant light came on this morning, checked it out, and the reserve was pretty much empty, so i filled it back up. I checked the oil, and it's clean. There haven't been any leaks or puddles that i've noticed. I just got this car, so it's possible that it could've just been low. Are they any other possible things to look out for if there was a cause to drain it? Or does the radiator fluid just get used up over time? thanks.

The fluid sometimes gets used when it gets sucked back into the radiator, and will evaporate to a certain extent. Refill it to the mark, keep an eye on the engine oil for water, and the radiator for oil.
My '89 was needing refilled way to often, and upon checking, found one of the mounting tabs broken, and a tiny crack in the overflow tank. I used exoxy to repair it. |
ok, thanks, i'll keep my eye out for that. Another thing, my dad just poured in the fluid straight in, and i didn't even think about mixing it 50/50 with water. Im going to top it off with some water, but will it be ok with the reserve full of pretty much pure coolant?
