word jr. and sr. iron heads good enough for 12s out of the box?

Do you guys know if the World Winsor Jr. or Sr. heads are capable of 12s out of the box. I am trying to go as fast as possible but don't want to spend more than 1000 on heads. I was wondering about the world heads cause the iron on are only 750 and 900 with stage 1 port work. Thanks for the help in advance!

My times are in my SIG. I would say they are very capable of 12's:D I love my Windsor Jr's. They are out of the box. Absolutely no mods at all to them.

I would get the Windsor Srs. Either pair are capable of 12's out of the box... I don't really like my Jrs., they don't make the power or torque I expected...

Why? do the sr.s make more torque? aluminum is lighter, so im leaning towards jr.s myself.

Well if its going to be an NA motor then Iron heads are better since they hold in heat better than Al... Al disipates heat too fast and will bring down the HP and Torque numbers. Of course not by much but a little... you can get the jrs in Iron too... I thought that is what StipedStangLX was planning was Iron... If I were going to buy heads again and my choices were Srs or Jrs... I would get the Srs... they flow better than the Jrs and are designed for more power than the Jrs...

up to peak torque the cylinders are being completely filled efficiantly... past PT the heads can't fill the cylinders fast enough so thats why your toque drops off.... with a better flowing head you could raise the power band a bit and still fill the cylinders, but you would lose low end torque... I am looking for more top end..

people with milder setups than mine just using different heads (AFRs or TW) make an easy 30-40 HP more than I do... so that means that my heads are holding me back... that is why I would go with a better flowing head...

just my 2 cents

I should mention I have the old style Jrs. on my car... just after they came out... so mine probably don't flow like the new ones... check em out here at Worlds Heads they have a new model the roush model... redesigned by none other than Jack Roush...

I've had both jrs and srs with only mild work done to both and can only say good things about both. I'm installing out of the box jrs on my car right now and yes 12s are easily reached with either out of the box.

Be very carefull buying world product heads... My brother bought a set and the damn things leaked oil in the cylinders and when he called world products about it they did not stand behind there product.....My brothers heads are at the machine shop right now getting redone at his expense.

World product sportsman II's 900.00 new
repairs to the new heads 200.00

I hope they do good for you but I will never buy anything from world products.....after the way they handled this problem.

Where did the oil leak from in your brothers heads? Why wounldn't they stand behind them?

The engine is going to be N/A. Since the Sr. have a 2.02 intake valve, wont' that hurt my low end torque? The car is a daily dirver so I want to retain the low end power. If the Sr. do make more power how much more do think? Thanks a lot for the help!

Your right. With my experiences with them the Sr.'s are going to hurt torque on any 302 unless it's a fairly high horsepower setup. I would stay with the Jr.'s unless your going to spray it, then the Sr.'s might work better.

I installed my Jr's this summer. I agree with 91GTturbo unless you are going to build the hell out of motor I would stick with the Jr's. I did a lot off research on thess heads before my purchase and that is what I found. Make sure you get the stronger springs. I jsut broke one at 1300 miles, called world I they told me for a roller cam I should not be using the 1.250 spring. Go with the 1.44 double spring.
