what to do?

I can get a 429 with everything but a carb, running for only $100, or less. It does need a rebuild. If I did get it, what the hell would I do with it, where would I put it? Anyone want it? I can pick up, if someone buys it. I know where to get another 429 for about $200. But I don't know how good it is.

Think: Water Skiing Power Plant

Take care,

we have people wanting 429's all the time. especially if they are trying to put a car back all original. i say get it and throw it in the classifieds for sale. someone will buy it.....;)

hey pkrwud..did you mean boat anchor?

1BAD89 12-20-2001 02:40 AM

I think he meant a boat motor. I would buy it, if you can get it for less than a $100, consider it a steal. I love motors.

mustangman65_79 12-20-2001 05:16 AM

I would love to have it, but I have now place to put it. I'm already taking my 289 back home to my dad, I can't fit a 429 in there too.

1BAD89 12-20-2001 02:30 PM

I think it would be awesome to have a room with just a bunch of motors in it, have you seen Lingenfelters storage room? Ahhhhhh 100-LS6 motors, 200-LS1's.....etc.....

6T9PONY 12-20-2001 04:21 PM

Dood, I don't care if you don't have any room for it. Buy the bastard. Put it in your Bronco or something. Or give it to me for X-mas.....I'm sure I could rig it in my Nissan truck...hehe...kind of like 1BAD89 did with his S10.:D :D

mustangman65_79 12-23-2001 06:30 AM

Here on base they have strick rules. There is no way to have it in my room. I have no storage, and the place that has the motor now is trying to get rid of it. I also have no money to store it off base.

69fastback 12-23-2001 10:44 AM

Hey but that thing then turn around and sell it. U can easily make a 429 into alot more cubes. someone will buy it or do something with it. Hell i wish i could get that thing i would keep it and go out and find myself a 64 Falcon omg that would be bad car.

RAGE_5.0 12-23-2001 01:49 PM

69fastback don't even think about buying another old fastcar
its just not fiar to the rest of us
u understand right?:D

PKRWUD 01-01-2002 07:24 AM

Dani-
Hehehe, no, I meant as an engine. The 429's, 460's, and GM 455's were/are all excellent skiboat engines.

69fastback-
Dude, a buddy of mine and I spent a year building a '64 Ranchero with a mild 306, and it was a workout shoehorning it all into that tiny engine compartment. If you can squeeze a 429 into one, you have just earned a spot on my list of The Great Ones! I would be very interested in seeing that done!

Take care,
-Chris

Well, since I'm in Oregon now, I hope someone hasen't bought that motor. I still don't have any room for it.
