weird sound after MAC cold air installation

I hope someone here can help me. I installed my MAC cold air kit in the Cobra...which was harder than hell, and now I hear a sound coming from under the hood, but when I checked it out, the sound seemed to be coming from my intake. Yes, I checked the mass air. Besides, I didn't even touch that because the kit for the Cobra starts after the mass air. I can't seem to fingure it out. Maybe it's just a coincidence that the sound started after I installed the MAC or maybe it's related. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

What was such a pain about the installation? I am getting ready to order a MAC cold air for my 2000 GT. I have heard that it is no big deal. Are they blowing smoke up my a@!?

What kind of sound is it making?

Are you getting a loud whistle type sound? I had a similer noise when I removed the cold air kit and installed the factory one. I ended up having a loose tube running into the connection between the MAF and throttle body.

You have to use the factory rubber piece from throttle body to MAF on the cobra right?

to answer some questions...

Funny, but the sound is kinda like I had installed a small blower or something. By the way, no, it's not hard to install on the GT...my girlfriend has that version and it goes all the way to the intake. For the Cobra, you can have it go all the way to the intake for an extra two hundred dollars so I took the cheap way and mine stops at the mass air. The crummy thing was the angle that it's inserted into the fender, and the fact that it was pretty difficult to get the huge cone up through the fender/tire guard. Like I said, the GT was much easier...don't ask me why!

The whistling noise could just be from the increased amount of air flowing in to the engine. If air is pulled through something fast enough it can make that noise, you could also have a small leak somewhere that would do it. I hope that helps.
