Freeway race(s) on Xmas eve!
 

So, I'm getting on the freeway and i recognize the 'vette headlights behind me on the ramp...

I kept my eye on the mirrors and sure enough!
it's ON!
I think it was a red c5, but i never got a good look.
I dropped to 3rd and pulled him easily.
we went about 3 more times, all ending with me showing him nothing but taillights :)

when he exited the freeway, his headlights flashed.
respect.

so, we are back down to 80 or so and I see a car coming up from behind, crossing the empty area we had just cleared during our 120 mph bout.

i figure i'm going to jail.

It was a black late-model FIrebird/camaro...
he wanted some too!
I handed him his *** once, then he stayed back for a minute. then i checked my mirror and he's trying to do a ricer flyby! LOL! i dropped a gear (should have gone to third) and reeled him in slowly, only getting past him at about 110 mph.

i kept my foot in it to 130, leaving him miserably following.

never saw him again.

Nice Cobra. i was thinking of getting one. How do you like the DOHC Motor now that you have had a 5.0 for so long?

the lx is all about torque!
gobs of low-end grunt that climbs to an early crescendo...

the dohc has nothing until boost comes on around 3k, and starts to get really interesting about the time you are ready to shift @6.7k. I truly think it needs a 75-shot of nitrous to get it moving off the line. I'd sure want forged internals before testing the limits of the 4.6 :eek:

my lx is built to go in a straight line, with skinnies and no sway bar, etc. the cobra is built to corner, but works pretty well in a straight line.

the cobra drives like it is glued to my butt.

the lx is like riding a wild stallion. hard work.

Very Nice Man! It's great when you race people that if they loose they have respect for the winner. And gotta love the ricer flyby. :D

One time I raced a Grand Am in the freeway
 

It was 3am and i was headed home i was coming from Los Angeles and I saw this white grand am with two big mufflers like the hondas have. so i pulled i cought up to him he was in the fas lane and i was in the lane next to him so i steped on it and went in fron then slowed down then he did the same and past me a lil bit and we were just playing then he steped on it and he took off but i cought up to him and i was close to him he cut me off and almost hit me and i had to slow down then he went back to the fast lane and wat i did was i went to the slow lane and i steped on it i cougut up to him and we were side by side then i reached up to 115 and like thats all my car can go to cuz it stops there it dont go to 120 well i was 1 car length infront and after a wile he just saw that he cult pass me so he just slowed down.


I need to get a Diablo Sport chip so I can get more HP and I can pass the 115 limit on my car:D
