Code 85...see if anyone can interpret
I pulled the codes on the Mustang today.
It gave me a code 85 with the key-on-engine-off test. It was in the first set of codes...so it wasn't a continuous code. The book lists code 85/non-continuous as a "Canister Purge Solenoid circuit failure." Anyone know what this is? If it was a continuous code, it would be "Adaptive fuel limit reached - lean" which I know I am running lean. Anyway, any help is much appreciated. --nathan |
CANNISTER PURGE
CANNISTER PURGE
is the box mounted on the rh lower frame in engine compartment it is solinoid operated it also has vacumn line to intake w/ a solinoid valve inline connected to the eec. you can get cannister purge codes from dropping tank and the vent line becomes disconnected or a shorted in-line vac solinoid. from what i know disconnecting this will not cause the check engine lamp, youres to throw a code must be shorted or dissconnected lx |
