Heater Core Help

Do any of you guys know if there is a heavier duty heater core that can be installed in 65 mustang? For some reason, the stock unit can not stand the pressure when my motor is at 4500 rpm+. I've blown two in the last couple of months and am wondering if you have any ideas about what I could do to keep this from happening again.

Thanks in advance

Never heard of a heavy duty heater core, but Ford did make little restrictors that you would put in the heater core inlet hose to stop the core from bursting. I think there was a TSB on it. On Mustangs either later 80's or early 90's.

Huh?

Wow,
I would change brands or at least install a guage on your heater core lines that is unusual. I would have some concerns about that for sure. You might drill a small hole in your thermostat and thry and relieve some of the pressure that way. I would try a different brand first stay with a big name company like stant or gates. It should hold about 15 or so pounds pressure. Most radaitor caps are rated around that pressure for relief..
I know that on the later model engines ford installed a metal tube but it served many other purposes, like providing protection because of heat and moving parts.

Mac..
