'67 Engine Compartment

I pulled the engine (289) on my '67 for a rebuild. The motor looks cherry now but under the hood needs some TLC.
I need to re-paint the engine compartment.
My question is this. What kind of paint do I use? Where do I buy it and what finish is it.
I know that it is black and appears to have a satin finish.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jake

You're right it is a semi-gloss black. You can buy it in spray cans, but I've never seen it by the quart. Though they might make it.

If it were me, I would have it custom mixed and use a two part paint for durablity.

I need to do that to my 68 too. Just hate to pull it all apart and remove all the componets and wiring from under the hood so a good job can be done.

This is also the time to fill in any unwanted holes in the aprons and firewall. Also, get the right bolts.
