Im wanting a strut tower myself, but the shop i went to was out of them, i doubt you will get any e.t. gain, but its probaly worth it for a more stable ride, subframe connectors didnt help me much on e.t's but i like em....:D

No, it will slow down your et's by adding more weight.

strut tower braces are for handling, not drag racing.

Mach 1 is right, it will slow you down if anything. But not by much.
The gain in handling and firmness will most likely outweigh any small loss in ET though, so it should be worth it.

Come on guys... It will give you at least 10 - 15 hp... just like a big Type R sticker.

Do they make a removable strut tower brace? All I have seen are the one piece ones that bolt on your strut tower and to the fire wall. The reason why I am asking is I really want one but if I get one, it will be that much harder to work on my engine. It I can remove it with just a few easy excessible bolts that would be cool. Like something that connects to the strut itself. Like the ricers but something 10000000000 times better.

They are all removeable.

I ordered one a long time ago, a MAC chrome one, and it didnt fit right. I sent it back for a refund, and it was the best thing I ever did.

They are just not worth it for my needs and get in the way.

If you really want one, think about it, maybe youll change your mind. Just find something better for your car for the same money. then maybe you wont want it anymore?

Technically, they're all removeable. They'll all take about the same time. Too easy to remove and I'd think they wouldn't work. Take a look at the Maximum Motorsports one. I've been looking around and talking to some people and this one is pretty good. I think the picture they show is for a later model, but it is a little tougher, better designed than some others. I guess some that mount to the firewall have even been known to tear out. You can even get chrome, though the added weight of the chrome on your ETs......

Yea lol, but an added monster tach might give you 10hp.:D

Well I have a Maximum Motorsports S/T brace. It didn't drop my ET's but it made my car ride better. I have a convert so cowl shake used to be a problem, but not as much with the strut tower brace. Seriously it doesn't weigh that much, and I highly doubt it will hurt to many street cars ET's by all that much. It does make working under the hood a bit harder though.

It doesn't weigh hardly anything, it just stiffens up your that much more. Speeding ticket huh?

I got the Steeda 3 point, and it made quite a difference in cornering. I don't have sub-frames (yet), so I'm running stock setup for handling. Install was only slightly annoying, not too bad. Removing completely would take me maybe 30 minutes MAX, and the same to re-install. Original install took longer due to drilling. Some hard-core will chop off their nads to save a pound. Not me. The brace weighs 5 pounds. Stop drinking a case of beer a night, that'll make up for it. As far as the brace goes, I love it, now I just need more traction for gunning it out of the fast turns.....

cyberstang5.0 01-18-2002 08:31 AM

I have Steeda sub frame connectors with seat supports, a larger and stiffer front sway bar, BBK lower control arms, stock uppers, and polyurethane bushings on every part of my suspention. Also, I have a sport rack and pinion sterring with a flaming river sterring shaft. Eibach pro sprot 2" lowering springs...

Will all of this, will I feel much of a difference if I do get one? I want my car to be drag racing efficent but handling is still a nessecity. It's a daily driven car.
