New manifold, lots of holes??
1 Attachment(s)
I just got my performer RPM intake for my 85 5.0 that i got from a wrecker, i have never seen what or where the other things in the original manifold look like so i was wonderinf if anyone knows what goes in the holes that i have marked
A: B: C: D: thanks very much for your help |
Hey man, thats what I run into with my intake. All these holes and nothing to put in them. On your intake, Holes A, B, and D can be used for a water temp guage. Hole C is for and air/ fuel Mixture ratio meter. After I decided which I was using for the water temp guage, I went to the local hardware store and bought some plugs. Works Fine.

thanks alot brad

A) For heater core return (supply would come directly off the water pump).
B) Best place for water temp sensor. C) Either air charge temperature sensor, vacuum guage, or as a supply for your vacuum tree. This is the only place to draw manifold vacuum. Don't see how you could do air/fuel ratio monitoring since the mixture hasn't been burned yet. D) Plug it. Don't take your water temp reading here because it will read quite a bit from the front port. |
OK my bad on the air fuel guage thing. Sorry man you aint gotta yell. Oh I'm sorry dont hit me OUch oh eh oh.

D most likely can be plugged. Ford uses that port for a temperature switch for some emissions stuff.

Wasn't yelling man, just wanted to clear up any confusion. No one's perfect.............besides me! :D

alright, sounds like everything is agreed upon, as for the heater return hose one, what is that used for? how do i hook that up? im sorry if these are rediculous questions but this is my first time rebuildingn an engine, and it came with none of these on the stock manifold.
