How much NOS can be used w/Hyperutecnic pistons
 

I really want to get NOS for this upcoming summer, but the engine was rebuilt to a 306 w/hyperutecnic pistons and otherwise is completly stock. How much can I spray without blowing a piston?

With the proper amount of fuel and timing pulled, you shouldn't have any problems, regardless of your pistons. Someone's going to disagree, but I have several friends spraying a 150 shot for many miles now and they haven't had any problems. A friend of mine makes a little over 400 rwhp with a turbo kit on a 93'. He has heads, intake, the usual, but the bottom end has never been apart.

I would not good over a 150hp shot if I was you.

Those pistons will probably take even more than 150, but with the hyper pistons, you only go lean or detonate once.

I've melted the tips off many a spark plug and my forged piston bottom end is still rock solid.

I have setup many cars with hyper pistons just run a wet kit and 150 is not a problem and 175 has been in two cars now three years and combined close to 80 bottles have been filled with not a problem. I always have guys who sell the dry kits for a wet kit but never a wet kit for a dry kit. The wet kits are always on the rich side to start with.

I wrote a letter to KB-pistons on this subject a couple of years ago, they said go for it, make sure your not going lean and retard your timing. Of course they are selling parts and not worried to much amount how costly a melt down could be. I asked about a 200 hp shot, they didn't seem to concerned..
