Tell me what you think of this paint job

I used Photoshop to doctor up a Notch. Do you think this car would look pretty good setup like this?

Original:

New:

The wheels didn't turn out very good, but I know they'll look killer on the car.

I don't know who's car that is, but it came from someone on here.
Thanks.

Looks good to me 2FastLX, but when I look again, that paint job looks kinda like primer, doesn't look high quality or shiny. Is that the way you want it? If that is b/c the original isn't that shiny and photoshop just can't make the modified car's paint shinier, than I guess if it were shinier, that color paint would okay.

I like the ghost flames, the hood and the simple spoiler. The wheels are OKAY, but fit well on the car. Have you tried any diff wheels? I really like the white parking lights.

As a whole, I really like the car. It looks really good, neat, to the point, and original.

tireburner163 01-20-2002 02:03 AM

Where do I buy one!!!!. I love that car. *Josh wipes drool from face*

I like the smoke head lights with the clear corners and the hood just looks plain MEAN. It needs rims that sit a little farther in, but that's just photo shop. I like the ghost flames. I grill opening looks pretty cool, but I would had a cobra grill insert(or maybe just the pony) or a billit type grill.

Over all it ROCKS!!!:D

OnMy3rdStang 01-20-2002 03:05 AM

I think it looks great! Alot better than what I can do on photoshop

2FastLX 01-20-2002 04:03 AM

The paint will be shiny. If you look at the original, you will see it lacks many reflections as well. It's because the pic was taken on a cloudy day. Not much to reflect.

As for the wheels, here's a pic of the actual wheels that are going on the car.

I bought them the other day and they should be here Monday.

kewl!

i have the same wheels, but not polished. mine is a hatch not a coupe. i like that coupe though! the paint job is killer! i dont usually like wings on coupes though, but the car kicks a**!

6T9PONY 01-20-2002 06:52 AM

Wow....that looks awesome! Very good job with Photoshop...How did you make that hood? Did you just draw it in or what?

The paint and flames look great. I really like the smoked headlights too. The spoiler is good.

Five0 01-20-2002 07:51 AM

Hey those flames look a lot like the flames on my car.

Very nice!

2FastLX 01-21-2002 02:35 AM

FiveO... your car was my inspiration ;)

As for how I did the hood it is rather easy to do, but hard to explain.

You make a selection on the hood that is the shape of the cowl you want with the Polygonal tool. Basically, a selection of the raised portion on the stock hood will do fine.
Then I copied the selection (CTRL+C) and pasted it into a new layer (CTRL+V) and nudged the layer up a bit . Then I duplicated that layer (right click the layer and select DUPLICATE) and nudged it up a little more on the duplicate layer.
I repeated that process about 3 more times until the cowl was at the desired height.

Then to make the scoop in the cowl i made a selection in the shape of the scoop, and used the Ink Stamp tool to fill it with color from the top of the hood so it all matched. Then I made a selection for the side of the scoop and used the Ink Stamp tool to fill it with color from the side of the body for the shadowing. Then I selected the scoop, then selected the inverse so the scoop was outside my selction and I used the air brush to paint in the shadows.

If you need help with selection tools go into the help section in Photoshop. It's a bit much to explain, but these are tools you will use a lot if you play with Photoshop, so learn them!

Good luck.

The front needs a litte change, say, some sort of ground effects, not what ricers put on, but like a cobra kit. Otherwise, it looks tight.

2FastLX 01-21-2002 05:02 AM

All right. I'm game.

http://www.indianastangers.com/2Fast.../my-notch2.jpg

It still needs some work to get the bluryness out, but I was curious what it would look like as well with a GT kit.

mustangman65_79 01-21-2002 05:06 AM

Well, now it kinda looks like a ricer job, that really doesn't look like a GT kit. Looks like something you see on a Honda.

Back to the drawing board hu?

2FastLX 01-21-2002 05:18 AM

It's a Cervini's Stalker kit. Here's what it actually looks like.
http://www.cervinis.com/shop/images/101_2.jpg

I'm having a hard time getting it to look quite right.

I would try a custom design, but I'm doing this to see how my car will look when it's done and I don't really want to try to fabricate a front bumper cover for it, or pay someone to do it. And I don't much care for the GT front bumper.

I think it'll stay the way it is anyway. The hood and the simple wing will probably be the only body mods.

I'm not sure if I really like this. I've seen better. I think the one that JC Whitney had is better.

2FastLX 01-21-2002 10:51 AM

or i could just do this

Coupe Devil 01-21-2002 11:09 AM

Thats a dead link.

fiveohpatrol 01-21-2002 11:23 AM

IMHO the scoop in the cowl looks a little too ricey. See what it would look like with just a 3" or so flat cowl hood and a cobra insert and cobra ground effects.

I love your color choice and those wheels look killer on any fox, especially coupes. Sure you dont wanna trade wheels? :D
