which intake to go with
this week I'm ging to but a upper and lower intake can someone tell me which one would would be the best bang for my buck,I'm kinda tight on cash so I might have to go with a cheap one.I've been told that MAC intake is the same as the edelbrock rpm performer but cheaperdoes anyone know if this is true. It's ethier that one or the trick flow street one :)
The Cobra or the Explorer or the TFS Street Heat would be my choices for bang for the buck.
I have the Edelbrock Performer 5.0 upper and lower intakes. I love them!!! They might be a little out of your budget but I bought mine for $460 from Summit.
Look here They I have had good luck with these Guys Jd' s Performance
Any "street" oriented intake would do fine - Cobra, GT40, Edelbrock Performer, TFS Street, Explorer. Take your pick.
Do you have aftermarket heads? If not, it wouldn't be worth it to put an aftermarket on the stock heads. Thumbs down on the MAC intake, I don't even think it's out yet, even if it was I wouldnt buy it.
I second 1BAD89's reply. I put a Cobra upper&Lower on my mustang b4 I got the heads and I noticed NO difference. By feel, nor on paper. I was pissed.

The Holley Systemax intake is the best long runner intake out right now, and the price reflects this.
On my stock headed motor adding a GT-40 intake dropped about 2 tenths and picked up about 2 mph. |
If you're on a budget like I am, then look around for used intakes. I got a Holley Systemax II upper and lower for 420 shipped to my door.
