Will You Guys Hate Me?
I was looking around for a new job today and went to the Dodge lot here in town to get an application when I saw it....a '92 Hunter Green T-Bird. It's got everything: CD, sunroof and a 5.0L HO V-8 :D
I've been looking for one for awhile now. It has 93,000 miles on it. Here are my 2 questions: 1. They are asking $3500. for it. Is that a good price? 2: Will you guys hate me if I sell the 'Stang for it? |
T-Bird defector
302blownpony:
The Kelly Blue Book lists this '92 T-Bird for around $5500. so $3500. sounds like a good deal, assuming it doesn't have any big mechanical problems or wasn't wrecked. Get a CarFax report to be sure and do a real good inspection before buying. I don't quite see the attraction of a ten-year-old semi-luxury car that wasn't all that when it was new, but hey; if you want an old 'Bird and it appeals to you, go for it - and enjoy. |
HATE?
i think it is cool! i would do the same! i love full sized v-8s! i like those body styles. it would be different. there isnt as many birds out there as their are Stangs! if you get it, make sure you post a pic.

I can't hurt you too much....
At least it's a Ford :D |
awww man we hate you! no just kidding, nothing wrong with t-bird's ,i found an 88 turbo coupe in perfect shape except for small mech problem's for 1000 buck's but cant swing it now, i wanted to buy it & fix it up for lee but that's life, get the bird if thats what you want man,hey it's still a sharp looking ford , ck my sig.cya:D :D
|
Go for it, it'll be an upgrade to the 4 banger! Mod it, and see what it can do! :)
|
Personally I wouldn't...I like the appearance, but haven't you seen the dudes that send in pics of their modded Tbirds to MMFF Showcase or something, and they're only running 13s with heads, cam, intake and bolt ons?
So many times I've been like WTF? WHy? HOW? :D But then I realized how much heavier they are...I think for someone such as yourself on a limited budget, its going to cost as much to make this car fast as it would to drop in a V8. I say whichever you will be happier with in the long run...:) |
No man, I wouldn't. I like the T-birds, my dad has a '90 T-Bird SC it's the 35th Anniv. model. She's been running real nice, he loves it. It's just his daily driver but it moves and quickly. He actually broke the speedometre in it before. =) That sounds like a fairly good deal. Even if you have to buy it and sell it and make some cash and buy a 5.0L Stang.

Thakns alot guys....and gals and Belle about the whole 13's thing I think that what that 5.0 even in that heavy car will do will make me more than happy well compared to the monstrous power of the 2.3 (LMAO) but I think I am gonna try to get it monday or tuesday just thought I would let u guys know....we may not beable to talk mustangs afterward but at least I will be able to talk 5.0 now :D:D

Hate you? Heck no! My first 'nice' car was a 85 Cougar XR-7, I loved that car. It had keyless entry, climate control, power seats.. it was very nice. You can upgrade that Tbird as well and you get a nice riding car to boot. Its a real good hwy cruising car. Your gonna be riding in style.
I was just checking out traderonline.com and searched the 89-90 Cougars, man I wanted one of those cars.. I saw some of them listed for under $3500. Those are sweet as are the Thunderbird S/Cs. You can even get one with a 5sp. |
I love the t-birds. My dad had a 4.6 94 it was an awesome car. It was very comfortable and a really nice ride. It also desposed of a few ricers here and there when he let me have the keys.

Why would anyone get mad?? You are doing what each one of us are doing.......upgrading.:) A friend of mine has a red 4.6 thunderbird sc that with some mods runs mid 13's.It's a real b**** to work on but its his pride and joy.

Yes, Yes we hate you!
JUST KIDDING I thinks it perfectly cool to trade your mustang in for the T-bird. |
