3rd gen alt?
 

I want to upgrade my alt, and was wondering if one bought at an auto parts store will bolt in easily? Is there any modifications that need to be made to where it mounts? Will the wiring harness plug in, or does it need to be re wired?

We just installed a 3G 130-amp alt from PA-PERFORMANCE. Install was real easy. Works great - with Flex-a-lite electric fan on, headlights, and other accessories still plenty of power to keep bat charged... Need to change a couple of the output connectors - which FORD went away from original design due to fires, add a 4gauge wire to handle additional load, and do some minor mods to the alt bracket.

There is also another way to go with a single wire off alt to + terminal of starter selenoid.
