T-5 guys

I'm in the process of rounding up the last parts to convert to a t-5 in the fastback. I'm just wondering what type of shifters you guys are running and how it feels to drive with it. Not too far away from the driver? Or just perfect? Thanks again guys. Do any of you which way would be the esiest and cheapest to add a cable clutch? I have the cable already.

I have the same thing a T5 the whole clutch, bellhouse and flywheel along with the cable and wondering the same thing. they do make a kit I think it was 375bucks, which is nuts, what do these parts pedlers think we're made of money? I'll figure it out myself then post it for all to see at a price we can all afford ---free all its going to take is modifying your clutch pedal to work like the cable unit and mounting the firewall mount I'm working on it

I'll be waiting patiently. He he hee.... I'll see if I can also work on it.

I have the B&M ripper. I like it, but then again it's the only one I've had so I can't compare it to anything. I just kept my old mechanical linkage. I don't really mind it.

welded up the pedal myself...pretty easy mod and the cable is really sweet (SMOOTH AND QUIET). As far as shifters go....I have put about 100,000 miles on mine using the stock shifter mechanism and the handle from an old Hurst 4 speed. I cut off the shifter handle and drilled a pair of holes--viola!! Puts the shifter knob right where it always has been. Good luck.

clutch cable

Hello, I am a new member. I put a t-5 in my mustang and a cable clutch to go with it. The only kit you can buy for the adapting the cable to older cars costs around $300 so I decided to weld a piece of metal onto the clutch pedal and make a mount for the cable on the firewall. I need to shorten the cable, does anyone know the best way to do this? I have the B&M shifter, but I haven't even put the seats in to see how far the reach is. As you can tell my restoration is not yet completed.

I've opted to go with a hydraulic clutch. Lets see how this goes. (crosses finger)
