Gtech accuracy and cost?
Hello,
In theory, I think I would want to buy a Gtech. I was mainly curious about how accurate they are? 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc... Also, I have heard there is no installation...I am planning to sell my car, and this would be something I would want to transfer over. Can anyone let me know how their experience with them has been? Thanks, DoranW |
Most users who've run down the track with it say the Gtech is accurate from 0-2 tenths off, and 3-4mph high.

The difficulty with the G-Tech is that the suction cup mount isn't as secure as it should be. Mine keeps falling off. I figured out another way to mount it so it's more rigid and it works great. Another problem is actually finding a place where you feel comfortable doing a 1/4 mile run.

I think they're pretty close, and fun little toys to have! I haven't had any suction cup problems yet, and I've never used the skidpad (lat g's) function yet! Go for it! :)

Thanks, you guys helped me decide to finally buy one.
JL1314 - How close are you to Ormond Beach, FL? There's an Impala owner down there talking smack about beating a Mustang. Do you think you could give him a race? |

hehehe what does he have done to it?? I live about 100 miles ( i guess) away! I'll race, but can never guarantee a win!!! LOL |

I think the ET is very close/accurate but the MPH is off by about 4.5%. When I minus 4.5% from every run weve made, the mph always makes sense from my friends LT1 Camaro running 105.5 (100.7) to my 104.5 (99.8) to my friends cars (Camry = 88.6 = 84.6) etc. etc. I always make my runs in 2 places and keep track of what I run and where.
