I Finally Got One!!

After several months of planning and shopping, and even more months of saving money, I finally got my first Mustang! It's a Performance Red 2000 GT w/ a 5spd. Here are some pictures (they're pretty poor quality - I'll try to get some better ones). I got it from a guy named Jim who spotted my post on Stangnet. (If you're reading this, "Thanks Jim!" ;) ) It has all the usual mods - exhaust, gears, pulleys, shifter, wheels, throttle body, etc. He even gave me BBK headers, an off-road h, and coil-over shocks he hadn't installed yet.

This is the first modified Mustang I've driven, so for me it's fast as hell. And it got 23mpg driving it back from Steeleville, IL (in the boondocks, 70mi S of St. Louis)! I had two other Mustangs try to "race" me on the way back to my cousin's in St. Louis. Unfortunately I couldn't respond because the traffic was very heavy and my girlfriend was following me with a pickup-load of spare parts. The best part was that, just as I have read many times on this board, when they pulled alongside they gave a friendly wave and thumbs up. It really made me feel good to be a Mustang owner. Also, there are tons of ricers here in Wichita that I can't wait to tear up! ;)

Well congrats hope you have fun, and as you will learn you will always want more speed. At least I do, have fun and go beat on some bowtie's.

Nice purchase. Sounds like you got a strong running GT. With those mods, you should have no trouble beating up on stock GT's and running with the Z28's. Now all you gotta do is start saving for that blower! :D

Sweet purchase, Congrats!!

Thats a really clean car, and it already has all the right go fast parts. Good luck with it.

It may seem fast now, but give it a month. Even my gears don't seem make the car feel faster anymore. Everytime I do something a couple weeks later the car feels the same as it did before:confused: ;)

Welcome to the "club" ;)

Welcome and congrats on the purchase.

Sounds like you started out with a good car to work with, get smart on and learn from.

Congrats again.
