Wont start just died completely
I have a 1984 Ford Mustang 5.0 Manual Transmission. My wife was driving it recently and the car just crapped out, never to start again. I replaced the ignition coil and the ignition control module. I checked all the fuses under the dash. There is fuel getting to the carb I took the cap off the distributor and there was no moisture so I put it back on and checked all the plug wires they look ok, not broken or limp. I then checked for spark from the number 1 wire at the spark plug end, nothing. Then I checked the number 8 wire at the spark plug end, nothing. Then I checked the number 2 wire at the distributor end and still no spark. So what I am trying to say is that I am getting no Spark. I am stuck any help would be great. Thanks, snowdude89145@yahoo.com is my email

These things come in groups, I swear!
Okay, get a 12 volt test light. Attach the clip to an engine ground. Turn the key "on" (don't try and start it). Touch the tip of the tester to the coil pos. terminal. Does it light up brightly? If so, move the testlight clip to the coil neg. terminal. While someone else tries to start the engine, touch the tester tip to the coil pos. terminal. Does the light flicker? Post your results, and we'll go from there. Take care, -Chris |
