EITHER MY T-5 SUCKS OR THE MECHANIC DOES!!

My third gear syncro is going out for the third time and I've had it fixed two times prior.

1st time, got stuck in fourth and they fixed it.

2nd time third gear is popping out and grinds. they fix it, bad syncro they say.

3rd time now I have a bad vibration at 45-50mph and 80-on up gets worse with the clutch in or out.

AND TODAY I GET STUCK IN FOURTH ON MY WAY TO WORK AND WAS A ***** TO GET OUT OF GEAR, and now I can feel 3rd slowly fading away again! WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY T-5? Unfortunately I do have the stock quadrant and shifter, but lets just say thats not the problem because I had always popped out of third since they rebuilt it over 2 times.

Thanks,
Leo

Sounds like your mechanic bites *** to me.

I'd also check the balance on the driveshaft. That can destroy syncro's

If its popping out of gear alot, I'd check for a bent shift fork or slider rail especially since you're still running a stock shifter. Bent shift fork/slider can also make it hard to get out of gear. The stock shifter will kill a T5 in a short time if you're an aggressive driver.

Your mechanic sucks! I rebuilt my t-5 and haven't had any problems with it.I don't baby it either! Either find a new trans guru or do what I did and order the video from Hanlon motorsports.Good Luck
