Please Help !! Going nuts
I have a 94 stang with a 302, MSD box coil, and distributor. I have just finished installing a new short block. This car ran before I blew the previous motor. The car will turn over but I get no spark out of the coil. Tested the MSD box according to the MSD Tech line. All MSD products tested and appear to be fine. When I have completed installation of everything, the car turns over but no spark. Can anyone tell me what my next steps will be in the correct direction to trouble shoot? Thanks

well theres 2 things that i can think of, Its either the coil, or the power to the coil
have you checked if you are getting power to the coil? Did you ground everything properly when you installed your new motor? if you had the coil in with the other motor and it worked, chances are that its fine and your not getting power to it for some reason |
Ok, I did test for power to coil and it did light my test light. I did not ground it to the neg lead, but assuming I get no flicker while cranking motor where does that lead me? Thanks again

do you have a friend with a mustang? if so, ask them if you can try their stock coil to see if thats your problem.
I'm really not good with electrical problems. Chris (PKRWUD) is good with this kinda stuff, either send him a PM or wait for him to respond, if the other coil doesnt work anyway |

I had a problem in the very beginning with my MSD set up too, my stang woud run then just shut down as if the battery was yanked- no spark, yet it would turn over. I would let it sit for anywhere from a few minutes to 30 minutes and it would start right back up, only to die a short time later. It turned out to be a defect in the distributor itself, after I started replacing all the stock stuff back through trial and error, have you had it tested? If not get it checked, I had to send mineoff to MSD to get it confirmed that it was bad before they would replace it under warranty!
