what size injectors?
I have a cobra intake sitting here that I am waiting to get some heads before I install it. I figure between the two and all the other crap I have I don't think the stocker injectors will have what it takes. Can you go too big with injectors? I have a FMU on the car now and there is a AFPR on the way. Do I need both? I am not going to go too crasy with the heads I am thinking more of just some ported stock ones due to money issues.
Thanks for the in put Chip |
First off with a blower combo, 19lb injectors is not really safe. If you are still going to run the stock cam, I would recommend 30lb injectors with 9psi of boost. You will need to recalibrate your FMU to 6:1 and possible drop your fuel pressure to about 38psi or so. You can get recal kits from Vortech (expensive) or from a place like Houston Performance (cheap). Its really easy to recalibrate. I actually wrote an install article for StangNet a while back for injectors and FMU recal. ;) I won't link to it though for obvious reasons.

if you are just going with ported E7's the motor wont be needing more than what you have. the 19# injectors are good for over 300 HP and with E7's you wont be making more than that. although if you feel different, i have a brand new 24# bosch set i need to get rid of. i dont think you need them just yet though.

I think Adam may have missed that your car is blown. 30's minimum would be my choose for your combo. I run 30's now with no fmu and have no problems, I'm also adding heads and I'm going to stick with them. And I also plan on running 15 lbs on race gas with them.

Cool so I go with the 30s
But with the Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator should I take off my FMU? |
