Cell Phone signal enhancer

Has anyone tried (or know someone who's tried) that thing from the infomercials that you put between the battery and the phone on your cell phone. It says it dramatically enhances your signal. But I know that most infomercials stretch the truth to the point where its basically a flat out lie.

I need something to get me a better signal, because my cell is based in indianapolis and I go to school in Terre Haute, which is covered on the map, but it doesnt get a strong enough signal out here for me to be able to use my cell in my apartment. I dont have long distance on my apartment phone, and my cell has free nationwide longdistance, so thats why I got it, but if I have to go outside to use it, its kinda pointelss.

Anyone tried this thing? its really not very expensive, but I dont wanna waste my money if it's junk, thanks guys

Signal enhancer

I don't have one but I'm considering getting one as I want to get the most out of my cell phone.

You don't need to go through some TV ad; I've seen these in Walgreens and Wal-Mart for the same $20., minus the big S&H fee they tack on when you mail order. Check around before you order. I think the enhancer antenna is probably somewhat effective, if not as great as the ads claim. Probably worth $20.

Check your phone, some phones just get crappy signals. Try contacting your cell phone company and ask if it is a common problem. About that sticker I don't know anyone that has tried it, I didn't really believe how something like that could work. I am very skeptical of it. But I'll ask around at school if anyone knows if it works or anything for you.

Take Care,
§am.

it's not the phone, i have a few friends with the same service (Sprint PCS) and theirs do the same thing.

The signal is great in Indy, even inside malls and big buildings, just not in my apartment (or most buildings) in Terre Haute

A buddy of mine bought it for his Nokia on an AT&T network, and it didn't do much, if anything. He was disappointed, but wanted to give it a shot anyways! Try it out, and post your results here!

well...

IMHO if they worked the phone company would sell them :) But I have never actually used one so I can't comment on experience.

My fiance tried that (he got a deal on it). Yeah, it didn't do anything. He's got Sprint, too, and it sucks big time. He compared his phone to a friends of the exact same kind side by side - no difference in signal.

Don't waste your dough. :(
