fuel pump with 24# injectors
will my stock fuel pump be able to feed 24# injectors for a while?
thanks, adam |
with the mods you have it shouldnt be a problem, you are still not out of the range of the 19# injectors
|
even when i change to GT-40 heads???
thanks, adam |
It is very advisable that you upgrade the factory pump regardless of injectors, the factory pump is rated for 88lph and that weakens everyday, get a 190 pump, and when you do upgrade injectors, which you dont need for a long time, get 30's, the 24's are barely better than 19's and you can build on them.
Do you have an adjustable regulator yet? |
im gonna put on a FPR when i get the GT-40's on. why did the cobra's come with 24# injectors if they didnt need them? they had GT-40's...
thanks, adam |
A 190lph fuel pump would be the way to go like gtsr515 said.......
I would still keep the 19# injectors with all of your mods you are still alittle ways from being out of there range, but it certianly wouldnt hurt to get the 24# injectors. I think ford put the 24# injectors in the cobra so you could mod the motor even more and keep the stock injectors. gtsr515 made some good points |
Dark....thank-you for the compliment, actually the reason ford used the 24's in the cobra was because of the camshaft, which is specific, if they used the 5.0 H.O. cam, the injectors would not have been neccesary, but with the 1.7's and cobra specific cam the injectors were neccesary. thanks again.

ok thanks guys, i am putting on the 1.7RR as well so i know that the cam from the HO's arent that diferent. so i am glad im going with 24#. i was thinking of walbro pumps. is it true that most all companies ARE walbro??
thanks, adam |
Yes, the aftermarket fms pumps are manufactured from walbro
