79-89 tie rods vs 90-93 tie rods

Are the post 90 tie rods better than the pre-90 units? I read that the 90-93 units are supposed to have better geometry than the older units. I am in the process of rebuilding the front suspension on my '82GT and want to do all the upgrades possible to it.
I'm just trying to separate fact from fiction.

I'm completely rebuilding my front end. I called maximum motorsports for a little free advice, and they toild me that if was replacing the outer tierods, to use the 90-93 from Ford. As it turns out, MM carries them for $75 each, which is way less then if you got them from Ford. They said other aftermarket brands compromise between the earlier and later pieces.
