Would the stock bottom end of an 1987 5.0L be able to handle a supercharger pushin 8 PSI and a 175 shot of NOS????

Do you have mass air?

I have seen people run both a supercharger & n20,but they weren't using that much nitrous http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gif
A guy awhile back, named Nitrous Pete Misinsky, ran a combination using a supercharger and nitrous set-up.I'll have to see if I can find a magazine article about his car.. ------------------ Paxton Blown 87GT ICQ#112698436 |
Well, the stock bottom end can hold that supercharger easy, it can even take a little more squeeze. Why don't you put the supercharger on and then see if you still want the nitrous? I don't think that it would be able to handle a 175 shot and the blower, probably only 100 with the blower, if that. You say stock bottom end, are you gonna be putting on better heads/intake? If so, that with the supercharger will be more than enough power for whatever you want to do.

I Dont have mass air.
I already have New intake, heads, power Puleys, 3" exhaust, cold air induction, 28lbs jets, fule pump ect. |
Start with one or the other, if you have the money go out and grab the supercharger. If you want more than that just go with a bigger shot of nitrous instead of the combo

Ok, so if i were to go with one or the other which one would be best for my engine???
By best I mean which one will put less stress on my bottom end and which will give me the bigger HP boost??? |
I beleive you will enjoy the supercharger a whole lot more, its easier on the parts, and its always there, you know, like always, allday long . A 175 shot is a pretty big hit on everything, and at that rate of shot it will be empty very quickly.

OK
Thanks for all the help. I went to a performance shop today and they said the same thing. |
