I'm replacing the dampener on my car now, I'm not sure of the years but mine, a 91, is a 50oz. If your going to replace it, go with an SFI harmonic balancer (dampener) they're rated at like 18000 rpm or something and don'thave the exposed rubber seal that the stock ones have. The fluid filled dampeners are supposed to be nice but i heard that they can harden a bit in cold weather and can rattle the motor pretty bad until they warm up, something to think about if you live where it gets cold.

Ken-
The balancer and the flywheel/flexplate are a matched set. Since they brought the 5.0 back into the Mustang in 1982, they have all had a 50 ounce offset. If your driveline is stock, then you will need a 50 oz replacement balancer.

Take care,
-Chris
