A combo of Questions!

I have a combo of questions that I though it would be better if I just asked them all in one post.

1st questions- are all HO camshafts the same from 87-93? Lift ect. ?

2nd- how much nitrous is ok to push in a stock 93 engine. As most of you know this engine didn't come with forged pistons.

3rd- How good are crane cam 1.7 rockers? OR which type of rockers give you the best bang for the buck?

4th- What valve springs should I go with if I'm not going with a higher cam than HO and 1.7 rockers?

Thanks in advance.

No, there was a mild camshaft revision in 1989. The 1987-1988 cars had slightly stronger cams. I have heard the replacement part number is the same; however, so going to get a new cam from Ford (or anybody else) will result in you getting the newer HO cam design.

Just enough so you don't blow the engine up. Seriously though, most of the N20 posts I've seen recommend staying to 125hp or under on the hypers. I have no personal experience though, and I haven't researched it enough to say for sure.

Crane has a quality reputation. I haven't seen anything bad posted about them. I've seen them advertised around $160 for a set in Summit. They'll increase the lift of the HO cam to about 1/2 between stock and E cam specs. You'll be at about .471/.471 lift with the 1.7's. The E cam will also keep it's duration edge. As far as bang for the buck, it all depends. If you already have to replace the rockers, and you are set on getting another HO cam, then I'd say yeah, they are okay. You could simply get a mild cam and keep your current rockers, if they are low mileage?

.

Quality stock replacements. The stock springs will accomodate up to .500 lift, and you'll be under that.

What do you mean stronger? As in they produce more horse power? If so, Why? Better durations and lift?
