is it safe to paint my calipers?

Has anyone ever painted their UGLY stock calipers on their 5.0? If so, what kinda hi temp paint can i use and how many coats etc???

I personally haven't painted mine yet, but my friend has on his TA. He used high temp truck paint from Autozone. This might sound weird but don't use primer. My friend put primer on and after it dried, he proceded to paint. 24 hours later (after he sprayed them) he was litterally able to wipe off the paint with his fingers. He had to take off the primer and repainted them. They still look to this day.

Just make sure that you clean them real good and get rid of most of the rust (if there is any). PM me if you have any other additional questions.

Yes you can paint the calipers, go to The Eastwood Company www.eastwoodcompany.com , they just came out with a new line of caliper paints, I have used a lot of their other products and they work great. Just be sure to clean the calipers very well.

High temp engine paint works great. Make sure you sand down the calipers to get all the grime and dirt off. sometimes no matter how good you clean them the paint won't stick to certain spots. I used "bond aid" before the paint and it worked great to adhere and keep it from flaking.

I used primer on mine and used regular spray paint. Did it about 3 yrs ago. Still looks good.

I don't see why not. Cheverolet painted the corvette Z06 calipers red.

Calipers...

Just use VHT brake paint. You can get it at 'O Reilly autoparts or Summit Racing. Just spray brake cleaner on them and let them dry. Then spray on the VHT paint and you're done. This paint works awesome. It is the same quality as Eastwoods paint. Works well on drums as well. DO NOT USE PRIMER. Calipers get very hot and primer is not designed to withstand high temps.
