Crazy Ricer Idea
OK, my buddy has an RX-7 that he loves to death, and he's cool with the Stang, so he's allright afterall :D
Anyway, he has read on his ricer message boards that a trick way to restore lost power is to fill the engine with ATF and let it sit. After a number of minutes (hours?) you then drain the ATF and fill with an appropriate amount of oil. He says this is supposed to re-condition all the seals and remove all deposits... I asked him if some crackhead randomly posted this on his ricer board, but he said that it seemed to be the concensus over there? Do you think there's any truth to this? Do you think this would apply only to the rotary engine?? Or what? -J |
Hey, My previous car was a a 85 rx7 and I herd the same thing it only applys to the rotory I think it has to do with the rotor apex seals I think. I also think that it is only a temp fix. month or so.my rx7 had 185000 miles on it and it still ran strong no rebuilds cool motors. would still have it but got totaled. I was tired of getting my butt beat by 5.0 stangs so I bought on If you cant beat them join them:D
