oil burning problem

If my car idles for a minute or two it will burn oil when I take off. It only happens after the car has idled for 1 minute or more, and it goes away quickly. I understand this could be valve seals or something like that but is it possible for oil to get into the intake through the breather? The baffle in the valve cover has been removed due to the installation of roller rockers. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, that's possible, but if it were the cause of your burning oil, it would worsen as you accelerated. You need to perform a dry compression test, followed by a wet compression test. This will help isolate whether or not it's oil getting by the rings, or oil coming past the seals or guides in the heads.

Take care,
-Chris
